Designing and Prototyping an Event-based Communication System on Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

چکیده
The event system and more specifically publish/subscribe systems plays an important role in designing and implementing a communication paradigm for distributed systems and networks. Publish/subscribe system with its desirable decouplings seems quite promising for middleware working on distributed networks working in mobile environments. In fact, using event system in such networks empowers the applications to provide higher reliability through an asynchronous communication model on resource restricted nodes. It also improves their scalability and serves them some facilities to support mobility properly. Transhumance Middleware Project [31, 32] as a novel multi-layer and group-based middleware utilizes event system to promote the communication between applications and different middleware modules. This report contains the description and analysis of a genuine publish/subscribe based event system on mobile ad hoc networks which works as a cross-layer overlay architecture and supports the asynchronous communication Transhumance middleware. This event system, called “Chapar”, provides a full-featured event system which support mobility in considerably scaled ad hoc network. Chapar is the first message delivery service known in the history belonged to Persian Empire in hundred years B.C. [Reference: Allyn Huntzinger,“Persians in the Bible”, Global Commission Inc, 2004.]

متن کاملImproving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...

By extending wireless networks and because of their different nature, some attacks appear in these networks which did not exist in wired networks. Security is a serious challenge for actual implementation in wireless networks. Due to lack of the fixed infrastructure and also because of security holes in routing protocols in mobile ad hoc networks, these networks are not protected against attack...

متن کاملEstimating Reliability in Mobile ad-hoc Networks Based on Monte Carlo Simulation (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Each system has its own definition of reliability. Reliability in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) could be interpreted as, the probability of reaching a message from a source node to destination, successfully. The variability and volatility of the MANET configuration makes typical reliability methods (e.g. reliability block diagram) inappropriate. It is because, no single structure or configurat...
